Our Program

The definition of transitional housing is a facility where a homeless family or individual may live for several weeks, or up to two years in some cases, until they are able to obtain permanent housing. This type of housing is typically combined with a set of supportive services tailored to help the program participants regain self-sufficiency. CLCC, which opened its doors in September of 2010, will offer transitional housing for men for up to two years.

Those interested in joining the program must make application, participate in a personal interview with CLCC staff, receive a physical, pass drug testing and submit to psychological testing. Residents are subject to random drug testing and must be free of alcohol and drug addiction while living at the facility. Those in the program must be willing to abide by the rules, curfews and communal living arrangements provided. Residents are provided with a mailing address, get assistance in obtaining Social Security cards and/or drivers licenses if needed and are offered medical and dental care. They are provided the opportunity to participate in programs/classes that teach life skills, job readiness and spiritual development. Residents have savings accounts, learn personal financial management and pay monthly rent to live at CLCC. They receive 3 meals per day and transportation to and from work.

The CLCC facility is comprised of two functional buildings. The administration building includes a reception area, conference/meeting room, and dining hall with a full industrial working kitchen. The dormitory building has 8 PODS that can house up to 8 men each, 8 leader PODS which house one individual, and 2 common rooms with TV, computer and lounge furniture. The Center sits on 14 acres of land deeded to Changed Lives Christian Center.

In Sept of 2010, CLCC offered housing to its first six men, and to four more in November 2010. New residents will be accepted into the program each month until the facility is at full capacity of 72.
